How to stop panel vibration help :)
INDY BIRD - 28/6/14 at 10:26 AM

Ok hi all,

My Westfield duratec has the engine solid mounted aswell as the gearbox,

Due to this the car has a lot of vibration through the chassis and panels,

How is best to stop this and what is the best material,

And changing the engine mount no and option they are rubber bushed joints but lots of vibration,

And as it has a sequential box there's a fair bit of noise there too

Thanks and any tips welcome,

Sean

If you don't mind a little extra weight, you could use some of this. I used it on our Midget as sound deadening for the floor and doors.

Dynamat or similar

Have to say though wickes flashing tape is probably the best locost option

You don't have to cover entire panels in it. Small A4/A5 size pieces in the middle of large panels usually does the trick.

Good idea,

It's annoying and when I video in the car all the mic pics up is the high resenence of the panels vibrating drowning out the engine noise very annoying still I'll look into this any other ideas welcome

As previously mentioned dynamite will help bit pricey tho

A cheaper alternative to dynomat is silent coat, which I've put on my build.

There is a video on YouTube of the difference it makes
