Paint advice please.....
pewe - 4/7/14 at 06:32 PM

On the hairdresser's I've finally got round to painting the lower panel behind the driver's door which had previously been painted with some awful Halfrauds colour that was way off.
Having rubbed it all down and put a decent fill coat on I've just noticed that above the sill line and below the swage line the red bodywork is textured i.e not smooth like to upper part of the doors etc.
So the question is has someone stone chipped it then painted it or is there something-else which I can use to achieve that textured finish before applying the top coat?
Thanks in advance .

Quite common if I remember. You can get stonechip that you can paint over, not sure what it's called but I'm sure someone will be along soon with a name/link

You can but it in a sparay can it is stonechip paint and leaves a texture. Just mask up to give it the line to match the existing finish the paint shop stuff is better as you push it out at a higher Pressure

Thanks, guys.
Will see if the stone-chip I bought at the same time as the rest is paint-able and give it a go tomorrow as long as it doesn't pee down, otherwise I'll be driving round on Sunday with an even worse colour match than before.
