Evening all,
I'm currently rebuilding a 70's Honda cb360. I'm just about to rebuild the engine. The two sections of the crankcase just get bolted
together. The factory manual says the mating surfaces need some sealing agent. What sort of stuff should i be looking for? I have a tube of loctite
black, but I imagine this stuff is too thick for the job?
Is there anything I can buy from the usual high street places or do I need something specialist from a Honda dealer?
I would use blue hylomar myself
Bit old fashioned maybe.
My preference is Three Bond, 1215 link description
speaks for itself, oem spec and the only one any decent subaru engine builder will use.

Don't use a silicone instant gasket you should use an anerobic sealant such as Loctite 574 or if you want to save a bit do a search on eBay for
Rover cam carrier sealant A21.The Rover stuff on eBay is past its use by date but works fine.
You should only apply a very narrow bead of sealant.

I used to use blue hylermar on my 350lc's every time I had to rebuild them (often!)
