Seem to recall on here or the other popular social media site a thread and praise for a go-pro type camera that was locost, but giving good
results.
In my old age I cant seem to find it now that I feel like a purchase.
Can anyone help me in my ailing!!?

There's a lot of new camera due out in next couple of months. Not a good time to be buying one to be honest.
The Polaroid cube is so small and meant be very good in terms of video. Much smaller then the gopro.
I'm looking forward to the next few months of release.
I have the polaroid XS7 and its as good as useless. Battery lasts 10 mins and wont let you charge via usb cable AND record, so useless in car.
Mobius dash cams get good reviews, and my dual camera dash cam seems ok to.
Go pro all the way. I use the LCD back screen too so can watch footage between runs to find out where it all went wrong!
Google SJ4000
I've not got one but they seem to get good reviews. Seen some footage from them and looks like its pretty good
I remember this thread about a locost camera

edit: also search for SJ4000

how about the drift ghost?
i bought the sj1000, because, somewhere on the internet, theres a video, split screen, with a video of a gopro and the sj1000 mounted side by side in
a car car windscreen, both recording the same journey, at the same time, and the colour was better on the sj1000... as was the change between light
and dark (coming out a tunnel)
battery life on the sj1000 seems to be a bit hit and miss though
The Qumox SJ4000 is probably the GoPro equivalent you are thinking of. This article gives a good review of the SJ4000 (and good reviews of other
action cams and dash cams too).

On the basis of his review, I bought an SJ4000 from Amazon. It has only been used underwater but the results are very good. It is compatible with all
the GoPro mounts and comes with loads of mounts and adaptors.
I also bought a Mobius Dash cam which is in my regular car and also works very well.

I had a SJ1000 untill monday.
The Mount snapped while going around Snetterton and it flew of into the grass
Regardless of how good the camera is, the minting needs to be top draw aswell.
The current GoPro range was due to be replaced early next year, so they slashed the price of the 3's and stopped making them. If you shoo around, you will find some very reasonable prices - starting at £99. I paid £270 for the top spec Black edition. It comes with a remote control and I can control it and watch the action on my phone. Very handy!
Thanks it's the sj's I was thinking of.
Will review when back at base with proper intrerweb
Cheers

Could you not watch the video and see where it is
i have a sony hdr-as15 tht was an ex disply unit (never used) for £70 i find it great it comes with a few mounts and waterproof case thats good to
60m! (tripod screw fitting)
i use it on my car and can be wireless linked to a pc,android or apple device to get a live picture, control and download
handy to control from the drivers seat remotely
carger is from any usb (not in box) and add a micro sd and you should be away.
some people had issues with them but a firmware update came out that i installed before i used mine
if you want a super cheap roll bar mount weld a 1/4-20 unc or bsw bolt to an exhaust clamp that matches your roll tube size and for extra bling add a
few wing nuts so no tools are needed.
cost me sub £2 and msa scrutineers are more than happy with them
