I've just bought an SJ4000 for £47 from an English seller (well, they say they're in UK).... Move over Steven Spielberg !

Except they're not, in particular the metering response times. This is a deal clincher for me as I can't stand they way the cheaper cameras handle rapid changes in exposure and white balance - something which is essential in an 'action' cam. From what I've seen the GoPros lead by some margin on this front and for that reason alone are for me worth the extra dough.

I also bought an SJ4000 Wifi from a uk seller and am very happy with it. Although I'm happy to believe that the GoPro is technologically superior I cant find fault with the SJ400 bearing in mind the price differential.

another vote for sj4000 value for money

My SJ4000 turned up in the post this morning and I've done a couple of test recordings only to find a green 1px line down each of the movies when played back on the PC.

In my infinite wisdom, I messed with a few settings here and there, and now all the bloody thing does is chime when I power it on. No white screen, no nothing. it's totally buggered !

So it looks like this one has got to go back. I can only guess something has broken while in transit as it hasn't worked properly from the moment I opened the box.

I was really looking forward to playing with this over the weekend as well.

Looking at buying a camera myself, and the sj4000 does look very tempting at the price!.

Anyone got some links on youtube or where ever to on track vids using one?, and maybe links to a gopro as a back to back comparison!. There's plenty of videos around but you never know what they've been recorded with.

And to add to the mix

Only 120 degree lens, not sure if that is good or bad, go pro is 170

Watched the video, it is difficult to justify a far more expensive camera when the image quality looks very good
