Value a car please

Hi all,

Any idea what sort of price our daughter should be looking to pay for a Ford C Max, 1.6 diesel, 130,000 miles, 2004 reg. All issues have been sorted when needed and by all accounts it is in pretty good nick. She is just a little worried about the mileage, but I said as long as it has been serviced that shouldn't be an issue with a diesel.

Thanks guys.

Look at Autotrader and the like to see what they are selling for locally.

As with any car you take a bit of a gamble, do expect things to go wrong.

There are plenty of known serious issues that effect any of the cars fitted with that Peugeot engine.

Autotrader, eBay, Pistonheads. All will give you an idea of what others are asking for similar cars.

Worth investigating if these have issues with dual mass flywheel

Also worth checking the turbo, the oil feed pipes sludge up and there is a gauze in the banjo bolt that starves the turbo of oil and they go bang! Prone on 1.6 TDI focuses of that age

Bang on the money!

I had a focus with the same engine and it went pop and 125K

It was a company car driven by me at all times. It got treated well with regular services at Ford.

Personally, I would give it a miss unless the above has been looked into.
