VOSA
won't like this one
He was towing a Shadow which will have weighed in at around 2,000 kg, add a trailer of say 500 - 750 kg, and his towing vehicle was a RAV 4.
The permitted towing weight for the RAV is between 1,500 and 1,800, he was massively over-weight and he was expecting to get to Spain like this!
Poor old car
it must have looked horribly overloaded, I dragged some heavy cars behind my range rovers but a RAV 4 is an accident waiting to happen...... And it did.
Still looks alright from the back...
I also wondered how his insurance claim will read, and will they pay out?
Not a bad reg number

Best Towing Rav 4 I found is the Toyota RAV4 2.0 VVT-i 2000Kg braked towing.
Rolls plus trailer is still to much. Unless it has no eninge.
I guess we have all done silly things in the past, but if it is over weight, the driver is a comlete moron on this one.
I was wondering what could have towed that sort of thing, 2.5 tons towing weight must limit it to only a handful of vehicles.
Breakdown truck or Range Rover would be sensible. But probably cost him less if he'd payed to ship it...
How do we know if the trailer he was towing with was capable of taking the weight of the rolls Royce weight, could be overloaded for the trailer as well?
Probably over the weight limit for towing with the ball hitch as well.

If the car was a runner he probably would have been better off taxing and insuring it and driving it down.
