Westfield for sale ? - not car the company
ken555 - 20/10/15 at 07:54 AM

Looks like it ?

Dick Axtell - 20/10/15 at 08:30 AM

Westfield Sports Cars are owned by Potenza Sports Cars Ltd., who also have the GTM brand. It'll be very interesting to see who it really is.

!0,000 cars already sold, according to the sales pitch, and many overseas. That limits the field.

Could be Caterham again ???

According to "how many left" there are approx. 2.7k Westfields licensed or sorn and 4k Caterhams in the UK.

Doctor Derek Doctors - 20/10/15 at 10:40 AM

I would assume that its Cateraham now that the F1 team has died and Fernandes has given up on that.

SCAR - 20/10/15 at 11:15 AM

Westfield cars net worth according to Company Check £-1.7million
Might not be a good buy

loggyboy - 20/10/15 at 11:37 AM

I suspect its a random kit manufacturer that is simply inflating there sales figures to make the prospect sound better!

Ugg10 - 20/10/15 at 11:48 AM

DJ Sportscars may be another option - they have just (or in the process of) offloaded the Rush car and they are coming under pressure from XCS for the top end of the Cobra scene in the UK.

SCAR - 20/10/15 at 11:57 AM

Don't think you would describe cobra replicas as popular for track and racing. Could it be Sylva as I heard Jeremy was looking to retire?

chillis - 20/10/15 at 12:21 PM

Westfield don't really have a global dealer network so either its bullcrap or its Caterham.

SJ - 20/10/15 at 02:16 PM

Turnover: £189,000

That's about 20 Caterhams. I'm sure they sell more than that per year.

Marcos?

Fandango - 20/10/15 at 03:23 PM

Could just email them, and find out.

SCAR - 20/10/15 at 07:22 PM

Just noticed it says Turnover £189,000 with a Net profit of £127,000
WHAT? Manufacturing kit cars? 60% net? put some butter on my hat!

SJ - 20/10/15 at 07:28 PM

I spotted the margins as well. I bet it isn't the full story.

jeffw - 20/10/15 at 07:29 PM

I would guess this is Sylva Autokits. If you include all the licensed models over the years 10K is about right.

rdodger - 20/10/15 at 09:43 PM

If that turnover is accurate I would say it's way too high for Sylva. Far too low for Caterham and Westfield.

Is the clue in the advert?
Great British Sportscars would be my guess.

jeffw - 21/10/15 at 08:49 AM

Sylva have been around a long time and, if you include RAW & Fisher, would be up at the 10K level.

I would imagine its £1.9M turnover and someone just missed a zero off as that's a more reasonable 6% net margin. It would also tie in with a typical turnover for someone like a Westfield sized brand. £20-30K cars - it's about a 100 cars or so a year. Westfield state almost the same information on their own website 12,000 cars, global dealer network.

Nice bit of industry speculation -

SCAR - 21/10/15 at 12:32 PM

If one of the figures is wrong its a pith poor effort when advertising a company for sale, they only had two numbers to get right!
I suspect you may be correct
