Usual friday search for something tasty to buy and fix. Stumbled upon this. Shame it's a Cat B, however the engine must be worth something.

Bet they don't see many of them!
How does copart work? Is it simply register and bid? Been watching a few cars in there the last few weeks.
Register, bid and collect. They offer a delivery service also. I see some amazing cars go through that the wife won't let me buy.
Also the bikes section has a few gems now and then.
Ever had anything delivered? Any idea of the cost? Do you have to arrange delivery first? How long do you get to collect?
Sorry for all the questions!!
Hope nobody died in that.
That is one of the new ford gt's, worth a punt for the 5.4 supercharged engine and tranaxle to put in a gt40 replica or ultima.
Not yet, however a delivery from Sandy to Hitchin will be about £35. I view quite a few cars in sandy and chat with the guys collecting the cars. I'd say you will easily find someone to pick up and deliever. The copart website has all the details with regards to costs and how the bidding works.

I believe all cars involved in a fatal incident are crushed.

Pretty sure there's no logical reason a car would be written off for fatality of driver. Not that I like the idea, I'm sure the system isn't that sentimental.

Don't think so. That is a genuine GT40, a Superformance continuation car, P2236, a real shame

Where did the '5.4 supercharged engine' bit come from? Says engine type 6997cc, that's a big block 7 litre, so original late.
Cheers,
Nev.

Our local scrappy has a special compound for cars sent here from way oop noorth due to being in fatalities. A lot of them have very minor damage. The guy in the office has the story for each and every one of them. A lot of cyclists and pedestrians. It's astounding really, to see so many near new cars being scrapped. These cars aren't bid on, but disposed of by contract. They dismantle the cars here, send the drivelines , doors and panels that can be removed, and corners, off for resale, and crush the chassis/floorpan.
Also our local bus company had to scrap a bus, not a month old, due to it having been in a fatality. In reality, the bus was dismantled, and all except the smallest bit of the chassis was built into a new unit with new identity. Legal ringing?
As for the GT40, it's not an original if it's got a supercharged late model engine, is it?
