Afternoon all,

Looked on the web, but can't find anything definitive.

Does anyone know whether the 205 1.9 GTI (XU9JA) engine oil sump has a baffle plate of any kind?

On the car I still have I'm looking to do some service work over Xmas. I'm hoping to extract the oil via the dipstick tube.

Not unless one has been fitted. They are quite prone to oil surge if used hard on sticky tyres, so Peugot Talbot Sport made a competition sump baffle for it.

Thank you gents, the answer I was hoping for.

I was aware of the oil surge issue (particularly with the Mi16 engine) had seen aftermarket sumps. Mine is factory standard so I should be fine.

A shame really as I can't drive it anyway, but that's no reason not to look after it.
