Well im rebuilding a spare gearbox for my merc vito van. This one aparantly worked ok apart from pops out of first gear. The plastic pads on the
ends of the shift forks are worn. MB will not supply them individually as they expect you to buy the entire shifter assembly for £400!
Anyway i have a few ideas on replacement. Firstly tig a bit of phosphor bronze where the plastic was and file to appropriate size. Not sure how easy
that would be to do. Perhaps replacements could be 3d printed. Or made on a cnc mill if its not prohibitively expensive. Ideas?

File/ cut some out of nylon flat stock
2 opptions to stick on
Use cs nylon screws melted together
Or steel cs screws
I recon nylon screws the best.
I have some m6 cs if you want a few
