Hi all
My brother is selling his car and a UK buyer has asked what would the tax be.
It was originally registered in the UK but lpg has been added since if it makes any difference.
Is there an online facility to check tax rate by number plate?
Does lpg affect this rate?
Thanks Steve
I recall reading a £10 saving is possible, what hoops you need to jump through is anyones guess...

The vehicle tax rates are only available if you have the latest 11 digit reference number from the V5C registration certificate (logbook)
Many thanks.
I don’t see why road tax is such a secret that an 11 digit security code is really necessary!
I did a search earlier but there seemed be based on co2 and year combination. I see what the asterisks means now.
I’ve worked it out as £315 on petrol and £305 so the tenner difference is still there!
A far cry from the €1809 he’s paying.
Thanks
