Intensive driving course.

Can anyone in Nottingham recommend good driving school for an intensive course? I have a daughter there who seems to have finally decided she needs to learn to drive, and I wonder if this may be the best way.

Afraid I can't recommend anybody as too far away.
However, be aware that there seems to be a backlog of driving tests (7 weeks), so worth taking that into account and planning accordingly.

I thought driving schools were closed, due to not being able to distance ?

My neighbour with a Red mini learner car, hasnt worked in months

They're all out in force round here, they're driving with masks on but as far as I can tell they're all working again. I've just checked Red and they're saying they're all back and active.

It's the backlog of driving tests that would be more of a worry, no point in doing an intensive driving course then having to wait a couple of months before doing the test.

Good point about the backlog I hadn't thought of that.

Don't the intensive course organisers also book the tests? If so, they'll presumably give course dates that tie-in with test availability.

Round my way (Hampshire) driving instructors are working. Both instructor and learner are wearing face coverings. The instructors have policies of sanitising the car between each student as well.

I know this as I've recently re-applied for my driving license (epilepsy) and spoken to 3 different driving instructors over the phone to check what's available.

My next door neghbour however is going through an 8 week driving test backlog (Winchester). He's taking a weekly lesson to keep his practice up.

I'd speak to instructors first and get their input on lessons and then any test wait time in the area.
