Just because you lot know everything.
My sister has recently bought a houseboat that she thinks was a lifeboat of some flavour in the past, but doesn't know much about it
otherwise.
My googlefu has almost entirely failed, due to knowing nothing about boats other than the whole "they live in water" thing.
So... what is it?

Yes pretty standard converted ships life boat with a superstructure added.
In the 1950s they were often built in-house by the shipbuilder of the parent vessel.
By the 1960s they were more often being built in GRP

But looking at pictures of Seamaster 23 boats it does look they have previous.
How recently did she buy it? There's a few other bits + pieces out there!
She got it a few months ago I think, currently being fixed due to being more leaky than a leaky thing on leaky week.
Arse. Engine code shows it's a PH2RMR which has a stump pulling 16.5Hp on tap. So clearly not the one above. Hohum!

By the way the Petter PH series were 4 stroke not 2 stroke.
Many memories as a JE of starting these engines and the equivalent Listers by hand during Saturday morning lifeboat checks, it is essential to
use the de-compression lever when starting.
