Can anyone recommend a good free software for blurring or overlaying a video. IE: say for instance you wanted to remove your speedo reading for when your out on the private track :-)

Speed = distance/time
The police know basic maths.

Better off blurring ur face and edit any footage close to ur home address, or reflections of ur plate.

You just need to add reasonable doubt.

I have footage on youtube of my car topping 135 on public roads, no idea who I lent the car to that day. Never had a knock on my door in 6 yrs.

But they don't know (or can't prove) they you haven't sped up the footage before uploading it. So they do not in fact know a reliable figure for 'time'. I'd be surprised if they could ever get a prosecution that way.
