last night i blew my engine on my civic hatch. i wish i could use it for a donor car! Do i replace the engine with a b16? or stick with the sohc d-series? i wonder.

K series engine swaps have been growing in popularity, but the engines command a high price.

My suggestion, B16a2 from the 99-00 civic si, fairly common engine as far as b series.

b18 non vtec versions are just outclassed by the rest of the b series fields.

b18c1 mmmm gsr, and available everywhere

b18c3 &c5 type r, expensive and harder to find, if you can find it good luck.

dont even bother with the b20

My guess is that you have the eg... If you have the cash, go for a b18c1, but rebuild the internals for low compression, and put a nice turbo on. It will be worth the extra hastle. you can easily get a reliable 250hp.

Go Twin Cam B16.

Fantastic engine with 7250 red line and 130 BHP basic on tap!!

Cheers

yea i am deciding on the b16a2, i am not a turbo lover but an NA freak. I need to have high reving engines. The tune of NA sings in my soul. anyway its so tough finding cheap motors! I hope i can find a good price with an LSD equipped tranny. btw to derf, i have an EK not an EG.
in other news i still havent found a good donor car for the locost project and to make this week worse my finals are next week!
thanx for the input guys.
