Pics don't really do it justice - massive thing, part tank, part 4WD. Think the rescue part comes from the truck barging through brick walls to rescue you from a burning building!!!

speedyxjs - 28/4/10 at 06:09 AM

WOW! I want one

blakep82 - 28/4/10 at 06:15 AM

seems a bit extreme

iank - 28/4/10 at 06:36 AM

A "rescue" vehicle wouldn't be painted that colour. That's got dual roles at the very least.

Ninehigh - 28/4/10 at 06:37 AM

Is it as wide as those Scottish roads?

40inches - 28/4/10 at 07:16 AM

Wonder why they need a MG ring mount on the roof and gun ports on the sides

Where exactly are you?
Unless it was unusually bright in Scotland yesterday, and an American numberplate...

vinny1275 - 28/4/10 at 07:23 AM

I've seen an american cop show where they use those - I think "Rescue Vehicle" is a euphemism, as mostly it seemed to be used for getting Swat teams up to buildings without being shot......

Ahh thats plan B for SNP to get into the next 3 squabling MP's debate

I would like to put a £5er on the Cons and Labrador joining forces and attaking Libralists

regards

About time you updated your location Hoots,
or are you deliberately trying to puzzle
people ?

ps, it ain't American and certainly not on the Aberdeenshire roads

JoelP - 28/4/10 at 08:28 AM

the photos are from an OZ site.

Either hoots is on hols, or the pictures are just to show the make rather than the specific vehicle.

OR he has emigrated to Perth

There waas an article some time ago that suggested the UK police force didnt have the right equipment should there be civil unrest or attack etc...

So they were proposing (some time last year) that all forces should be issued with monster vehicles etc to squash protestors etc..

Looks like they are rolling out their plan...

Its not going to be Tiananmen square, its going to be Trafalger square!!!

I agree...

Thats a Nazi police state storm trooper vehicle if ever I saw one. Police rescue my arse!!

People oppression vehicle plastered across it wouldn't be quite as good for the PR for us to be blind to what's happening in this country. We should accept it all as our government is only want to protect us.. haha

Thats like a south african casspir.......rescue my a**

hoots_min - 28/4/10 at 02:15 PM

He he he. Love some of the responses. Forgotten to update my whereabouts. Emigrated to perth, Australia and this thing is a monster. It would not fit on uk roads. You can see one of the pictures where it about the width of a parking space. The spaces here are about 1.5 times the size of uk ones.

Also wondered about the heavily armoured nature and the turret on top. Rescue is such an underrated word...!

adithorp - 28/4/10 at 10:06 PM

It's certainly not the RAC type of rescue but maybe they mean Rescue as in, the SAS rescuing hostages from the embassy.
