the cost of owning a porsche?
what are servicing costs like on the 3.2 boxter s ? are they very expensive to run/insure? and what is reliability or potential problems the the
boxter. cheers

over the years in the trade ive looked after afew porkers and as long as you buy one in good nick with good history you cant go to wrong ye the
dealers will pull your pants down at every chance they get but there are lots of after market garages out there that can do as good if not a better
job at half the cost especially now the new block exemption rule is out there which means you dont have to uses OE parts to keep your warranty that
brings the price down so shop around and its not a lot to run one on a day to day basis BUT some things DO cost a bome and a half so have a slush fund
just in case. eg had acustomer how spent £12,500 on a 87,D plate 944 S2 turbo ragtop looked mint with good paper work i still spent £10,000 doing it
up small stuff like odd oil leaks and 4new shocker with springs and some other bits and bobs like clips for the ragtop it dose mount up quickley

I had a 2004 2.7 boxster earlier this year for about 3 months. It was very cheap to own, bought it for £12k & sold it for £13K . If it's
4-5 years old then you can probably get it serviced at Porsche approved centres for £300-£400. I think the service interval on the older ones is 12K.
I was getting about 30mpg on mine, mainly motorway, dual carriageway driving. The 3.2S will be nearer 25mpg.

RMS (rear main seal) failure is not a myth... it's very real, very common and costs the best part of £750 to sort.
Other than that, pretty much bomb-proof! Beautifully made cars and as a previous owner, I can't recommend them highly enough!
Prices have come down a fair bit too... !

Discs can and do rust badly, cats can rattle and cost an arm and a leg . The only other thing I can recall them failing MOTs on is rusted exhaust
clamps, bulbs tyres etc but we used to test for the local Porsche garage so you would expect them to be well looked after.
