Depends what you want it for. Ive got a fault code reader that changes some of the more standard settings, but as i understand it, with ODB software
you should be able to programme the fuel and ignition?
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

only a ford's ids will allow any changes to any software but even then it wont adjust fuel etc,it may download an ecu update depending on
current software level. There are items that can be changed in its central car cofiquration but wont alter any running concerns.
The best thing to do is just plug up a fault code reader and post up the codes,is the mondeo still not starting steve ?.which engine has it got ? and
whats it doing ?
im in my own little world...its ok though they know me there

Make sure you do not touch the injectors... they are configured in the ECU and even the smallest fleck of dust can destroy them.
Its tempting to pull them and have a look if it will not run, avoid this temptation as you could be looking at a cleaning cost of £££ once
disturbed.
Diesels are not what they used to be for the home mechanic all that technology making them run clean and powerfully makes them nigh on impossible
to fault correctly at home.
If you have a google for issues such as High pressure pump failing this puts fragments of metal into the injectors and the resultant cost of sorting
is usually more than a complete low mileage second hand engine.

does it crank or try to fire ?and what does the immobilizer light do ie flash/ not flash.
if its a high series model you would get a warning message in the instrument cluster and if it cranks then i doubt its that.We had some early ones
that suffered with stuck egr valves(you can get your had under it and get the plastic cover off and feel the cam slider that operates it to give it a
flick back).Other than that you need to look at live data an see if you have the correct fuel pressure at cranking and sync between cam and crank
sensors.
