Minis again
Now the car is (nearly) finished I'm perusing ebay/pistonheads for that mini I'm craving ready for when I can afford it. (This is
dependent on me staying in Nottingham next year, if I'm off to London then the dream will have to wait )
First point that needs to be made is that pistonheads sellers seem VERY optimistic when you consider the average sale prices on ebay.
Secondly I've got my eye on this one, what do you think? Price seems reasonable

Probably worth adding that I was hoping to have a 1000cc mini on the road in reasonable condition for circa £3k

That's about the going rate for a '68 CooperS assuming the engine is the original and all the paperwork matches.
I'd be very careful though, there will be horrors in the boot under the metallic green hammerite. They aren't easy to repair when they
get to that stage and a reshell will kill the value.
Hasn't got twin tanks either.

I should have added /sarcasm to the thread
I want something OTR, as a usable ongoing project ideally for around £3k.
I was taking the rip posting that car, I'm honestly astounded that thats the going rate for a heap of metal!
owelly I'm hugely interested but I imagine your seller wont be willing to wait 3-4 months for me while I find out what I'm up to next
year.
I'm considering going through retropower too.

Yeah, but it's the same model that won the Monte Carlo Rally. Like most classic cars you're paying for the heritage, originality and a
genuine logbook, and if you want to do classic touring cars/rallying you need an original shell to get on the track.
Not that I don't think he's being optimistic, I'd not pay that personally.

i just love the fact its been "relisted due to time waster".
