Trailer hitch lock

Is there any aftermarket product that I can use to lock the trailer to the ball

I am really looking for something that can be left on whilst driving.

Just think it would give added piece of mind and obviously extra security

Don't really want to change the whole hitch thou.

Thanks Gavin.

Can't you stick a padlock in the handle that releases the hitch? Or are you thinking of shackling the whole thing down?

get a new hitch before it unhitches itself and causes an accident ,insurance wont pay out if trailers in an unroaworthy condition.

Is it a braked hitch? If not, i wouldnt waste time since you can get unbraked ones for 10 or 20 quid.

I've not heard of a device to do what you want in a safe fashion. I think such a device doesnt exist because the 'proper' approach is to replace it when worn. You might well just be paranoid like me, in which case a big chain and padlock is a good idea. Make sure its shorter than the breakaway cable if you have one. No point yanking on the brakes and then dragging it off down the road with you!
