Golf Cabriolet

Afternoon all,

The missus has just bought a Mk3 Golf Cabriolet and I want to fit central locking and a new alarm/immobiliser 'cos the one on there is foobarred.

I know there are millions of 'universal' kits available but wondered if there were any recommendations?

Ta.

It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

find a golf with central locking and steel that setup for the locks.

you will need other bits but you could get on golf forums and ask about.

i fitted central locking on my sierra i had years ago and did electric windows while in there. took a long weekend of painful wiring and trying to get stuff through the bulk head.

i then put door poppers on my bmw which was fun but a pain.

loads of old golfs in the scrap yards get all the parts from there ,i did not know that the mk3 cabrio did not come without central locking as std.im sure it did.and i bet thats why the alarm/immobiliser is foobarred.try to find someone with vagcom and hfind out what the problem is ,join a golf forum and someone will sort it cheep.

Didn't Mk3 have central locking and deadlocks as standard ?

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
