which is more desirable 206 gti or clio 172

Being an old git now which is more desirable to the age group who buy them.

Clio 172 2003
206 gti 2002 or early 180

or suggest the latest trend amongst the age group who buy these type of cars

I am interested as my nephew has asked me to find him either or,

Thanks

clio is awsome, and im not a fan of french cars. but a buddy at uni had the 182 and it was insane. 172 is the one i'd have, and im very cool.

away from cars, now cycling and building TT bikes

not sure they are in the same league if you look at power to weight/bhp and handling the renault wins hands down.

the cup was the one to have, take a look at old evo reviews.

Clio all the way. My mate just sold his 182 for a Volvo 850 r, and I think he's made a big mistake....

206 is soft and wooly, for girls really., allthough to be fair ive never personally driven one, this is the general view held by the motoring press.
Clio is much more raw (especaily Cup and Trophy versions). Missus just sold her 197 and it was a great laugh (abused by me here.)
We test drove a 182 trophy a few yrs back and seemed alot more track orientated than the Fiesta ST she drove at the time (Shes back in one again tho) and the corsa VXR that we tested.
For cheap FWD fun id defo choose another Clio.

Before getting too excited it might be worth him getting some insurance quotes first. Can't imagine either will be affordable to anyone less than 25 in a really nice postcode.

I'd go for a Clio if I could drive one. Unfortunately I cant get my foot off the clutch pedal without smacking the steering wheel with my knee :S

Ok shes a girl, but wife was 24 when she had hers and paid only £35 a month! jammy cow. Although it was on the increase which was one of the things that led to her going back to the Fiesta ST (under £30 for that).

the 172/182 are 'only' group 16/17 and the 197 is 15.
