Upgrades for Silverstone breaking news
Apparently Mclaren have announced a major upgrade for the home grand prix.
Feeling somewhat left behind recently Ferrari have also announced a mjor improvement.
For the pit wall guys they are installing an anti whinging twat device in Alonsos helmet.
Engineering have looked into it a designed a lightweight titanium version in extra large size
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

No, I have now seen the error of my ways and I will 'almost' apologise for any suggestion that Charlie Whiting was conspiring against
me...

No wonder he has put a statement out saying he "overreacted".
I love the fact that Lewis can get him so rattled though. Alonso is nothing but a *&^T

Carbon Fibre was originally considered but found to be tooo fragile for the number of posible ejections.

And Hamilton is such a nice guy isn't he...
Never whines to the team about his brakes needing looked after, never blames the team when it all goes wrong, never lies to the stewards and then
blames the team for misleading him, never tells his team boss to "go swivel" and of course never takes his manufactured position for
granted! Okay, I made that last one up...

Come on guys, is that the best answer you could come up with? It's not even original as you both posted the same thing!

Alonso's had a chip on his shoulder about the British since the drubbing of 1588.

A good point well made, I hope there are lots of galleons in the crowd at Silverstone to let him know we haven't forgotten his involvement in
that either

Mark Hughes has written an interesting article on the BBC website about the 'incident' (Valencia that is, not the Armada)

Quite an interesting article but at the same time I would suspect that all of the drivers have grudges/axes to grind with various folk in the
business.
I f I were the team boss at Ferrari I would be most displeased at the whole scenario. After all he ( Alonso) is paid to drive, and while he was in
this frame of mind he was IMHO not fully concentrating on his job at that time.
I thought he was a great driver while under Flav and at Renault, probably the best part of his career so far. But now I just don't get him at
all. He is very bitter about the whole Maclaren outcome IMHO.
Only one way to sort that.
Shut up ,get in the car, and drive.
PROVE YOU STILL HAVE WHAT IT TAKES Fernando then maybe we will cut you some slack.
The other thing I just do not get is why every driver aspires to drive for Ferrari??
They are not always the best/most advanced team and again IMHO many drivers have gone there at the peak of their career only to become an also ran.
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Same reason the hockey players in North America want to play for the Montreal Canadiens: $. More exposure=more marketing deals. They of course, they
complain about it once they find themselves in a slump, and get about 5 pages of bad press in the local papers.

Alonso is more than just a driver, he is a highly intelligent and charismatic leader. Say and think what you like but many people in the industry rate
him very highly indeed for more than just driving a car. In fact, there are quite possibly better "drivers" but in my opinion and the
opinion of many, there are few if any betters racers. When at Renault, he was the heart and soul of the team in the same way that Schumacher was at
Ferrari. A team like Ferrari needs that type of person which is why they came after Alonso.
No offence meant but people like you (and I) really don't know much about F1 compared to the like of Ferrari, Schumacher, Martin Brundle, James
Allen and a host of other industry insiders all of whom rate Alonso as the current best F1 racer in the paddock.
Alonso has always divided his attention between driving and other tasks such as second-guessing the strategy or working through mechanical problems or
figuring out handling issues. Again, you and I would need 200% concentration just to keep the car on the road but that's why we are here and he
is there.
I also think that far too much is being read into the whole Hamilton grudge thing. The media have been desperate for something like this since the
beginning of the season and are consistently disappointed when Alonso and Massa remain on (outwardly at least) good terms. I also find it hypocritical
when F1 fans such as us complain that F1 drivers have no character these days and are boring and emotionless and then we criticise the like of Alonso
and perhaps Barrichello and a few others when they let off some steam or show some emotion. Do we want a grid full of "reliable" Nick
Heidfelds? I know I don't. I want the rivalry and the intrigue and I want to see the genuine joy and the tears. That's the way it used to
be and we should be grateful for those who show their emotions in public rather than simply reading a canned statement from a script.
I told you not to get me started didn't I???

I don't know a lot about a lot of things, but I know seeing Alonso drive in person, made me have a lot more respect for him. He knows how to get
a race car around a track during a race, and wasn't world champion for nothing. I don't mean just fast.
Personally, I don't know how you can drive at 300 km/h and chat with your crew at the same time, whilst thinking of how you want your front wing
in the next corner etc.
