Diesel advice Needed
Daugter and husband just came round, with Diesel pi$$ing out of the return pipe on his Astra Mk4, its a 12mm pipe which opens up to 20mm for the push
on fitting, pipe had split on the flare.
To keep it on the road short term, I spun a 12 - 20mm reducer up, cut the split bit of pipe off, but, the only pipe I had in 20mm bore, was heater
hose, question is, how unfriendly is diesel to 'rubber' heater type hose?
I know its temporary till I can get some 20mm fuel hose, just wondering how temporary it needs to be?

Till it starts pissing diesel 
Most of my temporary repairs have last until they failed

Haven't there been complaints about petrol hose dissolving at a random point? Sounds like a "get some asap, but no need to get it RIGHT

Depends what the heater hose is made from, if it is nitrile rubber it will be fine with diesel (not with unleaded petrol tho) but I think most heater
hose will be EPDM which will swell and go soft fairly quickly.
Phoned the local ramblers club today, but the bloke who answered just
went on and on.

not sure without seeing hose spec, but after youve replaced with proper stuff change the fuel filter after a few hudnred miles. just in case its
gummed up with dissolved gloopey rubber.
