5k car for everything.

Right, i have sold the Indy, currently driving around in the tin top, and im slowly coming round to the idea of selling it and having just one car, so, what car could i have? 5k max budget, useable everyday, rear wheel drive sportscar...

i will sell the mondeo but its not worth anything,

also, anyone use a fury everyday? im still not sure if i could enjoy owning an mx5, great to drive though.

5k will get you a very nice bmw e36 m3 evo coupe.

320 odd bhp, RWD, great chassis and if you wrap it around a tree makes a great donor

E39 530d BMW tourer

Lots of space inside, great engine, well made, economical etc etc

Or... if you can stretch to it an E60 5 series. Nice (i like mine )

Dan

EDIT: Fast too (relatively speaking next to other tin tops)

clairetoo uses a fury everyday i think. Elise would be good, but you are at the snotty end of the market at that price, but they can be found needing work for that price

£5k would get you a nice XJR Straight six or V8 or if you dont need the rear seats, you may get a good early XK8 for that money.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

For that money I'd be looking at an MX5 with either a turbo or better still a supercharger conversion.
Ticks all the boxes for open-top motoring, civilised so the better half won't complain - air con. , decent suspension, boot, radio etc. etc. but still capable of track and driving days.
Lots about so cheap'ish parts and a sweet chassis.
Cheers, Pewe

I'd get something like this

You could also find a Civic Type R as well, but I prefer the beemer (or an XJR, or a Merc SE, etc.)

I used my GTM Rossa as a daily driver for 18 months - quite practical after I'd stopped the water running through it

im thinking i could just get away with a screened fury, although the ginetta g27 has a 'boot' if you can call it that,

If i decide to go that way i could get a fury with a zetec or g27 with a pinto atm, what would you guys go for, also g27 has loads of wet weather gear where as the fury has none, not sure how much it would be to get a wet weather set for a fury?, both quite nice on the inside.
