Evening all, some of you might remember some time ago i posted about spraying my works van well ive started ive got as far as primer and now im
rubbing down using 400 then 500 grit then on with the colour! Now heres the bit i need help / advice with i have done the guide coat trick to find the
low spots in the primer but in some areas i have sanded through the primer back to the origional paint colour being red, now will this show through
the new colour being silver do i need to put another coat of primer on or can i spray the colour straight over these areas with no issues later on?
any help much appriciated Greg

you need to have a nice even basecoat before applying colour...

Just prime where you've gone through and don't rub through again, use the 500 wet to flat off.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

What are you topcaoting with, basecoat or 2K??
Just that 500 grade is a bit coarse, should be OK for 2K, but basecoat will probably have scratch marks showing and will never give a good shine. I
would be afer flatting with 800 before topcoat (even with 2k, but thats probably because that is the way I used to do it with celly)
And as above. Red is an odd colour in that it tends to show through other colours. Best to have everything the same or it may look patchy.
