disconnet the hose that goes to the engine, attach your pump on to that and away you go.

Is it an injection?
On the rail there should be what looks like a tyre valve, which is pretty much what it is, so if you have a tyre valve tool you can remove inner
valve, stick a hose over the end, supply 12v to the pump (usually to the right of the tyre well on the underside) and watch the fuel pump it self out.

What he said^^^. However if you go in the relay box under the bonnet you should be able to find the fuel pump relay. pull it out and use a piece of
wire with a female lucar connector on each end to by-pass it.

As above but you shouldnt have to by pass the relay. The pump will keep going if it doesnt sense a pressure build up. Just turn the ignition on.

The pump stops after a few seconds unless the engine starts.

Easy, disconect the feed to the filter or fuel rail and extend the pipe into a load of cans or another car. Then either lift the back seat and give
the fuel pump a live feed or bridge the fuel pump relay.

Many moons ago when I was about 17 my then girlfriend drove her car into the ground and melted the pistons due to a water leak. She had just put 60L
in it. I thought, I will do what they do in the movies, I put a piece of hose pipe into the fuel filler and with a bucket tried to syphon the fuel
out. I tried to start the flow by sucking on the pipe.
After the vomiting and retching stopped I decided it wasn't worth it. Youth is wasted on the young.

Some screwdrivers + steel tank = sparks. Big boom.

Make sure if you use a pit you don't spill any , as well as the fire hazard the fumes are likely to knock you out! Petrol in your eyes is
painful but not compared to petrol in your ear, beware!!!
