£1500 tin top idea's
my mum is on the look out for another car as her current wagon is on its last legs
she needs a estate automatic and ideally a escort sized car which is really limiting the choices
any ideas? all i can find that fits are astra estate 1.6 or possibly a renault senic but read about issues with the auto box on the renault which is a
worry but i think she would enjoy the high driving position of the senic being a short arse
So what little hidden gems have the LCB collective got under their sleeves
cheers

a mk4 astra or mk1 focus is probably a safe bet and there are normally a few for sale
wasn't someone on here selling an astra a month or so back ?

Problem is most modern small/medium car automatic transmissions are not very robust ---- many including Ford use CVTs which tend to wear out at
surprisingly low mileages.

Excellent cars. but quite a bit larger than an Astra/Focus (but then again you get a huge boot space rather than the matchbox sized thing in the
Focus!)

2000 Daihatsu Grand Move, 1.6 auto with 54,000 miles on the clock on Autotrader. It looks a tidy motor.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Would a Kia Rio fit the bill? Auto trader has quite a few with autoboxs on 51-52's for just over your budget but at dealers (So they'll
most likely take £1500 cash. All of them seem to come fully loaded (In my experience though most small cars with Auto boxes only come fully
loaded).
Not a great car but about the size of an escort estate and they're very cheap for what they are.

considered the skoda but think its a bit too big for her, the main issue is wanting a auto if she would drive manual then there are loads more
options.
seen the grand move but they look fugly
think a astra or focus is still favourite atm boring but safe
