Unseen Gp B footage discovered
Here's one for any fans of the last of the real rally cars and a good story behind it.
The footage was apparently shot by a Japanese company and has never been aired. The video was in a very odd format and the guy that has it now had to
pull all sorts of strings to get it digitised.
A mate of mine who is an actor and with whom I did the RAC in 1992, was approached to do the voice over on the full version. Hence the info.
Here's a snippet on You Tube. Apparently the footage is of excellent
quality.

Those were the days.
RS200 still looks pretty.
6R4's always seem to look battered but effective.

Mike, I'd didn't realise we had a top rally driver in our midst. What must it have been like mixing it with the top names. You must have
good memories of it. Funnily enough '92 saw us competing in the Mitsubishi Marathon in the ex-Peter Banham Riley 1.5. There were some well known
names on that one too including Moss,Jiis Van Lennups, Ann Hall, and, strangely, Gatsonides, he of Gatso fame.
The footage on YouTube is excellent quality and a mouth watering taste of what the DVD promises.

Excellent, rally cars are by far the best competition cars. That 6R4 footage is amazing, I saw some going through our local country park a few years
ago and the noise and speed was unreal.

That was when the RAC was ALL about endurance, of the cars AND the drivers.
Cracking.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.
