Below par tyre seller
Hello all
Just a word of warning to anybody who lives in the York area who maybe inclined to go near a certain tyre supplier who can be seen at trackdays
etc.
Rang them for a couple of part worn tyres to be told they had two matching with 5-6mm of tread almost new.
Turned up to have them fitted one was ok the other had smooth bald sholders on both sides, fitter reckoned they were legal!!,told him i didnt want it
and have they got anymore, found another which wasnt the same but looked ok.
Told them to fit and balance them.
That night i was driving down the motorway and at around 60 mph the car is vibrating like mad,the next morning took the car into the local tyre
supplier to find that one wheel wasnt balanced properly and the other hadnt been balanced at all, more inportantly it was a directional tyre which had
been put on the wrong way round.
I rang the said supplier three times to speak to the manager was avoiding my call, when i eventually spoke to him he was rude unpolite and totally
dismisive of the situation.
So having been given the oppertunity to discuss the error of there ways and been total tossers i have reported then to the trading standards.
Beware if you live in the York area, these people are not offering good service and more inportantly could be fitting tyre dangerously to the
unsepecting person

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

No road tyres
Its not a uk wide company just a bunch of halfwits who are dodgy to say the least.

Wouldn't bother ringing them, just take the car down/wheels down and get them to sort it.
I always check fitting of tyres when I have mine done. Watch them balance them etc even if it's from a distance.
Caught one guy pocketing my metal valve caps and putting on plastic ones.

Ordinarily i would have done that but i live 40 miles from them and had them fitted whilst passing last week.
To be honest once somebody does a sh-t job i wouldnt go near them with a bargepole anymore,i pay good money and i expect good service first time round
not for me to tell them how to fit tyres.
Reported to trading standards now and they seem overly interested.
I wonder why!

i hope my last set of tyres were fitted correctly
i fitted them myself
i don't think you'd have any issues putting a name to a list of objective facts and the thread is a little worthless without it

No wrong way round
Trading standards were very interested in them,i got the impression from the guy who rang me back from TS that i aint the first here as he said there
was a case already open and were safety is an issue they are going to pay them a visit.
Even asked me if the other tyre company who corrected there shoddy work are willing to put the findings in writing which they said they would.
One thing i cannot stand is tossers doing crap jobs and then getting away with it,i hope they close them down or something
