Rare ebay 'result'
Well, I hope so anyway.
Found this hiding in the wrong category.
HC 1300 MK2 Ford Escort Engine on eBay (end time 17-Oct-10 19:33:49 BST)
If it's 'as described' it should be quite a snip.

Err, I think so ?
Just waiting on the boy returning my email about uplifting it.
Gives me a spare engine to put into the back of something more appropriate.
(That's the kwack engine, not the xflow.)

Depending on the phase of the moon it's worth £20 if weighed in.

Does that mean that this is going in the Sylva?
Have you got another chassis in mind for the kwacker?

Not that this chassis actually exists as yet.

lol, isn't that about what they're worth anyway? don't get me wrong I think you can make a wonderful engine out of them with the
right parts etc etc but as standard........... plus it sounds like it may be in 'kit form' from the advert so you're possibly
spending from the off??
I've still got a couple in the garage which I was effectively given free plus all the right bits (which were far from free lol) I should get rid
really but I'm not sure I can bring myself too

You're probably right.
In light of the complete rebuild of the rest of the thing, maybe an engine to the same level makes most sense.

Minor update.
Picked it up tonight.
It's worth, oh around £20.
If you include the 32/36 carb it came with.
Well, must be honest about these things. At least it was only along the road.

Not in terrible condition, not in wonderful sparkly new condition.

You should be able to get those parts from tat-bay cheap enough. Although when you add it all up, you could have bought another engine for the same
amount.

Is the correct answer.
I'll get the £20 back flogging the carb, get what I can for the rest if I so choose.

non 711 block...... oh well! it was only £20 and as you say the carb is worth more than that probably (especially if it has a complete linkage
because they are quite rare )
