Peugeot 205 Diesel Over Revving Problem
Hi Folks,
My Peugeot 205 (1994 ) has always had a tendency to rev slightly erratically. This problem has recently become much worse, spontaneously picking up
revs out of the blue. It can be calmed down by slowing/loading the engine and once calmed it will stay calm as long as the revs are kept to a minimum
which is of course not possible all the time.
I've checked for air leaks etc and dealt with any suspect looking hoses etc. I have been advised that it may simply be in need of an oil change.
Is that likely? I have a feeling this is something trivial and doubt it to be the injection pump etc. Have installed new filter and also a new
'wax stat'.
Any ideas?
Thanks in Advance
Mike

Could possibly be oil leaking into the turbo. Does it smoke from exhaust at all?
