Airbag light
Sorry this is not kitcar info i want BUT you lot will know the answer
On my Vectra C when i turn the steering wheel fully to the right the A/B light comes on then when i turn it fully to the left /turn the ignition off
/on start engine the light goes off until i turn it to the right again etc etc
What is in the wheel / column it cause this and how can i repair it
This has been like it for about 3 years and always passed its mot

The connector to the drivers airbag, probably the spring coil connector has a fault on it

How do you get to it ?
if this is going to be part of the MOT in 2012 i will have to get it sorted

it will be a break in the clock spring. Ive repaired one in the past on an escort but you need to be careful to count the number of turns with the
wheel in the centre before dismantling

I have had to replace these many times on GM cars at my old work.
You can buy as a part the clock work connector. Its a pre sealed 'cassette' so no need to count turns or worry too much.
How to do it:
1)put the steering wheel in the middle (straight wheels) Disconnect your battery (make sure you have got your radio code, CD changes may require a
second code!
2)Leave the car for at least half hour with no batery.
3)With a bit of work your can get the cover off the middle of the wheel and take out the air bag box. Be careful not to bang it around. ALL yellow
wires and plugs that you see are to deal with air bags or pre tensioners.
4) Remove steering wheel.
5) change over clock work connector for the new one.
6) RE fit all parts and connect battery. Hopefully the bags \ pre tensioners wont go off!!
To be honest if there are any bits above your not sure how to do or your not confident I suggest you don't attempt it. Air bags and the
explosives are serious bits of kit.
Oh the other thing is to read the writing on the cassette. I think it states what position the steering wheel needs to be in.
