MEV cars

Hi, anyone know much or dealt with MEV before?
I had set my heart on another MNR but
A) can't afford it as work is so sporadic
B) just inherited a Range Rover big conversion with trimmings that i want to keep / turn into a traka type thing mabe
C) looking at the MEV exocet it looks easy, cheaper than most and quick to do

Any thoughts welcome

I'm going to detling in the rangey most likely

Its a shame its a bit on the ugly side as the concept seems great. Its that wide nose that spoils it. I do quite like the rocket though.

Likewise I'm gonna follow the complete kit car build and see how they get on.

Out of interest does the Exocet need an IVA? I know it uses the MX5 running gear and spine but I don't believe this construction is actually the chassis, it comes under a different name like a mechanical something or other.

i bought the mag last night and will read more tonight

looking at other options too as a rew makers are doing deals and dropping prices ive noticed

i need to do the rangey first though and looking at a traka type conversion but without the chassis cutting.
thought i'd look and see if i could extend or make a new outer frame and then add screen and lift off doors and a hood.

trouble is no pipe benders near me and as for making new bodywork......................

It's hard enough getting conventional body work done here.

To be honest, MEV seem to struggle to make anything remotely pretty IMOm, they all look a bit like they were knocked together from 5 bar gates, which is a shame.

Is have to argue the Sonic looks lovely. But id agree the rest do look a little like converted child safety gates!

Hi.

I am new to kit cars and we (son & I) are building an MEV Exocet.

So far fairly simple strip & build process.

There is a forum from the main MEV LTD web site with example builds documented.

Mine is http://www.mevowners.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=exocet&action=display&thread=832&page=15

I have found that both MEV (Stuart & Julie) & the Forum are a great help to a novice like me.

I've been on there a few times as thats our goal now (me and the missus) with the MX5 we've recently bought. Track it this summer then MEV it over the winter.
Just been and collected the head from being skimmed so out in the garage rebuilding this afternoon.
Only disappointing thing about the forum is they've blocked access to the tech areas unless you've bought one or already put a deposit down for one

We had a good look over the cars at stoneleigh and had a chat with the guys, seemed nice enought to chat to.

i do like the rocket/concept, but i think it would look better if the front was round rather than the square/boxey bit
