anyone recommend a good manifold maker, for a zetec in a 7 type. Seen some very expensive ones

Erm, GBS perchance?
You won't get much cheaper.
If you want made to measure and a beautiful job 907 on here or google Paul Gooderham

Cheers mate, as I said that's the only one I'd seen so have no idea whether it's cheap or not. I'll stick with GBS
