Day out
Hi there just looking for some advise from the hardened drivers who take there sevens here there and everywhere.
Not really been very far in the car just through the ribble valley on a Sunday morning, just need to gain some confidence in the car.
So what do I take with me on a descent run out, what tools do I carry? also no spare wheel, is it a matter of corpus amounts of tyre weld?
Looking to have a run out to Oulton Park.
So come on lads/gals give a clue............

all you need is an AA call out card and a full tank! jobs a good un!
I love Pinto's, even if i did get mine from P&O!

waterproof coat, helmet, and a "get you home" break down policy thingy,....
and a bit of common sense.
(I have a tyre weld thing too)

Tyre weld is good.
AA card is for the rest (make sure you have recovery home).
I've carried all sorts of spares and tools around with me. TBH most of them didn't help at all with my major breakdowns (engines blowing
up / oil lines splitting etc).
So now I carry a couple of adjustable spanners to do things up that might have come loose. Screwdrivers / pliers for adjusting cables.
Spares wise, a Venhill cable repair kit, a litre of oil to suit the engine, and maybe a litre of coolant, just in case. Should all fit behind the
seats.
Oh and an endless webbing strap (in case of recovery) as some recovery drivers couldn't work out where to clip the winch hook too if you
didn't have a towing eye!

why shouldnt you have confidence in your kitcar?
if you know you put it together correctly, the engine works, and it passed SVA/IVA then why worry? the furthest ive driven mine form home is about 120
miles away when i drove to Stoneleigh. all in i did just over 250 miles that day without any problems, or things to worry about ( except the rain...
but we took full waterproofs, and helmets with us, so everything was good

With the exception of a spare wheel, your about as likely to fix most things by the roadside as in any car
So tyreweld, breakdown cover and suitable attire is about it really.
Building confidence is just a case of keep using it, it hasent got to be long journeys, its just got to start when you go out to it, run stop and get
you home repeatedly without anything falling off
