FIAT power steering
anyone know about these things?
on my punto this morning, after starting the engine the steering wheel started rocking back n forwards, just a couple of degrees.
within 10 seconds or so it stopped and everything was back to normal FIAT driving perfection
is this phase one of lumpy gravy or because she has not been used for a week?

The earlier ones are electric power steering, motor and ecu are mounted on the steering column. May well be the same design. ECU's are well
known for packing up.

My 09 Panda has done simillar things and Fiat have said not to worry about it so you should be fine. My power steering sometimes cuts out if I do alot
of low speed steering in a short space of time, turning city mode on and off usually gets it to work again, If not try turning the leccy on and off. I
work with people who've had simillar experiences so I'd just put it down as being an italian electrical fault and ignor it.
