Wiper motor help

Spent the day removing and strippng the wiper mechanism from SWMBOs Alhambra which had seized on the spindles (common issue according to various forums). Got the linkages free and re-greased all OK. mechanism now moves easily by hand, but the motor won't turn the mechanism despite working OK when not connected to the mechanism.

Can I assume the motor is damaged from trying to turn the seized spindles...? Can't see any obvious damage to the windings or control PCB.

A new one is £265 from EuroCarParts or a chance a 2nd hand eBay one for £65.

Have you checked that nothing else is siezed, or stopping the motor in some way. Just a thought. HTH Ray

Extensively - had the whole thing apart today and I can now rotate the complete mechanism easily by hand.

Just bought an eBay 2nd hand motor to see if that solves it - fingers crossed
