They only say it cos' the correct spelling is 'i foist'.

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Why?
"Tifosi (pronounced [tiˈfoːzi]) is an Italian word to describe a group of supporters or fans, especially in sports. Tifosi is used for a mixed gender or an all-male group; masculine singular tifoso, feminine singular tifosa, feminine plural tifose."
Don't see whats wrong with that.

Well....to be fair, it is in Italy. I doubt if the Italians get annoyed when english speaking people say "fans" or "supporters"

I don't have a problem with the word or the meaning - just saying it every second sentence.

The equivalent would the an Italian commentator, speaking completely in Italian apart form the word Tifosi, which he would replace with "fans".

Other foreign languages do use english words sporadically and repetitively... 'box' is a prime (F1 related) example and is almost universally used during the pit stop.

It's not just english commentators who use the word 'Tifosi' when describing Italian sports fans... I've heard it in German, Swedish, French and Spanish. It's just one of those foreign words that's been absorbed into many languages.

If you don't like it, then go into your bakers and ask for a Crescent roll instead of a 'croissant'... etc... etc...

What's getting on my nerves is DC saying, 'on this day in history' about everything he sees!

My bet is that the Tifosi were too busy enjoying the racing to be distracted by such trivialities as this, as was I.
They certainly know how to create a great atmosphere and support their team.

Forza Tifosi!

Interesting, because I always thought I was the only one who got very annoyed at the overuse of the word. Not just when Monza is on either.
