garage??
Hi all
I was looking at a dancover to go on my drive to keep my aires in, but from chatting with other members, i am thinking it will not be the most safe of
things.
so next on the list is a metal shed.
cost is the main thing, so cheap as poss :-)
size wise, this will be fine
what do the people of locost think? or could you recomend anything else?
thanks
ian

I looked at the metal garage, but they just sit on the existing drive, i.e they have no base. My drive is on a slope so all rain water would run down
through it. Also you get alot of condensation in a metal building.
So I built a metal/wood garage on a sole plate with full waterproof floor. Complicated way, but the stuff was free....

i just have.a cover over mine. i have no urge to build anything else. it will block the view out. of my window.

Problem with some of those type of structures is that if you have the doors open and its a Windy day
the structure can start to 'twist'

every year i buy a new halfrauds premium cover. cost about 50 quid. by not building anything it means i have good access all around it.
i do get little marks from the covers at times and probably more rust and cobwebs but Thats all just part of seasonal prep.

Yes, they do a fully waterproof and breathable cover for about £100. Well that's what it cost when I bought one.

You could also try the local council and see if they have any garages for rent. We just got one for £9/week - obviously more expensive than a cover
but the price is still pretty reasonable.
A bird in the hand....

I agree with trying your local council , I pay £7.50 a week for my garage in Shelford less than a hundred yards from home . Have a look at Cambridge
Gumtree if the council can't help, there is often a few to rent on there

I can use a garage that is about a 15 min walk away, I use to keep my old car in there, but even that use to stay wet all the time.
if the car went in wet, 3-4 days later, it could be dry outside, but the car would still have water on it or very damp.
and tbh, i would like to keep the aries at home.
I think my plan of action now is to put it in the back garden so it is out of view, and use a good car cover. when the weather gets nicer, i will make
my own shelter for it
thanks
