Are you glad or not that you went with the standard chassis rather than trying to put a Haynes chassis under it?

There was a bit of work to get the MX5 gearbox to fit as it's a good bit wider than a type 9 so in terms of time it would probably be the same
as adding to the Haynes chassis to make the body fit.
Overall I think I did the right thing as the Thruxton chassis is better developed than the Haynes and more rigid. The suspension is more adjustable
with bespoke gaz shocks. The whole thing has been developed for track which was what I wanted. There is now a more road biased option with a full
screen.
It was also good to have Jim Walker (Manufacturer) at the end of the phone to offer help and advice. He even came up from Cornwall for the IVA!
Overall I am really pleased how it has turned out and can't wait to get the MP62 supercharger bolted on!
Someone else is fitting a body over an already completed Haynes. I won't out him as I'm sure he will post details when he is ready.

It's quite different to the MK especially the rear and the lights. It fits nicely to the chassis on top of the side rails where the MK has
infill ally panels.
I think they may have come from the same place originally but the Thruxton has been reworked to give a much better fit.
