I'd imagine he means, safe from being in a genuine fight for the number 1 driver spot at RBR.
Mark being average is open to opinion, I don't think many multiple GP winners are average drivers.
He certainly wouldn't make Kimi look average. I'm sure we can agree on that?

I think Webber is avaerage. Winning so few races over such a long period makes him average and not rubbish. Nothing against Webber, I will miss him in
F1 but he is no superstar.
I think RBR have made the right choice letting Kimi in would only make things worse for them. I would like him to stay at Lotus. He has a chance of
winning the championship and I would love Lotus to win the manufactures which with Grogion (SP!?) is a possibility.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!
