Doblo engine failure?

Couple of times now my 1.9 JTD Doblo has 'missed' a bit and thrown up the engine failure light on the dash.

Checking the error codes it has been crank sensor AND RPM sensor failure..

The crank sensor error caused a non starting event where as the miss happens when I'm driving along.

Couple of drops of oil have appeared on the garage floor as well..

Any ideas?

I'm thinking of taking the motor out over the holidays to put a new clutch and cam belt on, clean the inlet manifold and upgrade the inter cooler, hope the ting doesnt give up before then!

my colleague had one of these engines in his car and had a misfire caused by a cylinder casting failure, one end of the cams were waggling about!
