Whoops

So i changed the oil on the haynes roadster today, all over the driveway after forgetting to put the sump bolt back in, then ran over the container i had left under to catch the drips afterwards which happened to have some yellow paint in the bottom. Wife was not a happy bunny i can tell you. Doh.

Washing powder is your friend. Tip on oil stain, add some water ( not much) quick scrub and leave a while.
If a tarmac drive take care, it will dissolve it if left too long.

Thanks

Its concrete, and with a plethora of classic minis over the years it has seen more oil than the north sea rigs.

Why do so many modern cars have the sump plug sticking sideways out of the sump instead of straight down? I've got one of those containers that lies on it's side to catch the oil and then you stick the plug in and carry it upright, but as soon as you remove the sump plug on many cars, you get an almost horizontal jet of oil that's moving fast enough to shoot right along the container, up the end, over the edge and all over the path!

Gents, google for PELA oil pumps and stop making a mess of your driveways. No mess, no fuss, no replacing sump nut washers, quick, easy and ready to transport to the council tip afterwards as well.
