Team Bath Racing on TV!

The launch of our new Formula Student car was publicised on BBC Points West on Thursday. You might recognise a couple of faces from the footage

Also take a look at our facebook page for more pictures and information about the new car.

It's our 2012 car on display at the Science fair with some members of next year's team. Make sure you give them a good quizzing

I know little about formula student but that is one strange looking car and probably awful to drive.

Unless my phone has screwed with the pic it seems very short with a bonkers rear wing.

What engine is in that?

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

They are very nimble and good to drive around the twisted coned circuits on which they compete. See the following for an example of an FSAE circuit.

Speeds are low so wings are large. The car weighs around 165kgs wet and has a 65bhp Aprillia V-Twin. We have been the fastest UK car for the past couple of years, and with around 15kgs less weight and double the downforce we should be even faster this year.
