Double garage in prospect
Been looking to move for a while now and finally found somewhere that ticks the boxes. As a small bonus it has a double garage with space to make a
loft and a power door . This could mean somewhere to work on my 205 GTI project and space to start something new
Made an offer (waiting to hear back) and have the first viewings on our house this morning. Spent the whole weekend painting, fettling, cleaning and
tidying.

Oh the horrors, waiting on estate agents and solictors...... Deciding in your mind it's the house for you which installs the fear of being
guzumpted in a rising market.
Put in the offer, do not return until it's yours is my advice.
Good luck

Minimum
Minimum of a double garage with power is my aim for next house.
Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Good luck with your hunting, I went through all the pain of that at this time last year. Well worth it in the end.

As James May would say...."oh COCK!"
Vendor accepted a lower offer then ours from a cash buyer, despite our buyer being in a cash position
Estate agent was honestly at a loss and tried every angle to try and get us in, but it looks like it's gone.
Houses round here are selling before they even make it onto a Right Move etc.
The hunt continues.

OK so the double garage didn't work out, but maybe for the best. Found a better house in a better location (for us) with a garage for not 2,
not 3, but for 4 cars plus an annexed 40ft shipping container for storage. Present owner runs a motor bike business from the property and invested in
a proper work space with lighting heat and power.
Hope this one works out!

happy days
we got refused a house with a 4 car workshop 2 months ago after putting in an offer 10k above asking, last week we ended up with a far better
detatched property with 3 garages and space for 4 cars on the drive within walking distance to work
sometimes it all seems to work out!
hope everything goes well for you

I do mind the first house my folks built when I was still at school, as I use get picked up by the school bus at the bottom of the drive the kids
commented on how big our house was, actually that's just the garage, we haven’t started the house yet...(we were living in a static on the site
at the time)
my dad does love his big garages 4 cars are a minimum

Good luck.
I really want a double now (and more importantly need a another bedroom or 2!)
This property game is no fun! I was so gutted last year when a great property came up (corner plot, large garage and huge room for extension) but we
weren't in the position to meet the sellers demands. Was a part ex and they knew they'd priced very cheap (about 50k under IMO), so others
were in a position to put deposits down and complete much quicker than we could.
Fingers crossed something will come up soon!

Our house sold this week.
It shows that none of you live in the South East. Or your all bloody rich!
We have a budget of £400k and where we want to live that does not even garentee a garage at all!!
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

I decided to remove a hedge next to my garage and discovered that there's actually loads more space than I thought as the hedge was almost 2m
deep! - time to extend the single into a double I reckon
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure

I think me and nick classify as SE, maybe just a little furter from m25 than you, but still in the commuter belt.
3bed and garage is easy 250k, 4 bed 300k maybe. (My area anyway, probably slightly more for Nick.)
Our current 2 bed has 3 car drive and a garage! I was lucky!

Indeed, 4 bed with a garage (double if you're lucky) is £450+ here.
Place I'm looking at is a 3 bed semi with an outlandishly large garage and being a corner plot a bigger garden than usual. It's also a
project house in need of a lot of work so priced accordingly. The trade off for the garage is probably spending the next 10 years sorting the house
out and not playing in the garage.

We are in the SE and as said to buy a house with a double garage is 400/450k
if we were looking at moving I would be looking for a house that has the area to build a garage or extend the current one
and places like that are available in the 300k bracket,
Another option is tandem garages ie car in front of the other, my grandparents had a place like that, and he used the back portion as a workshop etc,
front for a car
My single garage is not even big enough for my Mondeo as if I got the car in there, I could not open the doors !
yet its big enough for my 7 and two work benches and basically everything I need
However tidiness is paramount, to maximize the space I do have
so maybe I don't need another garage, as I would only fill it with crap !
steve
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

Move to Basingstoke! Lots of 4 beds with doubles for around 350k. Or are you a Winchester snob?! :p

Seriously considered moving to B'stoke, but family network and kids already in school etc. kept us where we are for now.
