A very expensive mistake with the floor pan
as the title says i have made a very expensive mistake when bonding and riveting my alloy floor to my roadster so i want to share it a bit red faced
so others dont do it
Right hear it goes i used 1.6mm alloy (great) 4mm Rivets (great) toolstation stick all for bonding Now this is ultra strong great product so i put a
run around the chassis put the alloy on aligned it all up with a few rivets then pressed it down great then riveted all the wholes
it took no time at all had a sit on it to test the strength then was so proud went and had a cup of tea and catch the news Now the problem starts when
sitting on the floor pan i must have sat on some stickall which transferred to the soffa to me time would have got rid of it but wife went spare
any way the upshot is saturday i have to shell out for a new soffa

I've done this a few times although only with water based paint on to a leather suite so a baby wipe sorts it out. I now wear overalls in the
garage and make sure I don't come back into the house with them on.

Once the glue is dry ...
But if your wife is the sort of woman who will keep throwing this back at you - add more glue, turn the cushion over, sit down till its dry. If she
ever manages to show you the glue now its time to fatigue check the floors bonding

tell the wife to get over it.
You obviously don't have children or any pets.

If it is PU based (like most of the products are) then white spirit will dissolve it. Leave a damp rag over the marks over night, and then work it in
the morning when it is nicely softened. It wont be easy, but it will make it much better, and is easier to swallow than buying a new sofa!
Otherwise, start rearranging your man cave to fit in your new garage-sofa?!

May be time to upgrade the wifre for a less complaining model - moaning is not a desirable feature in a women
