Modified and Classic Cars Could be Banned from the Roads Under EU meddling - Daily Mail
We'd all like to do that engine swap, without receiving a demand from the DVLA to IVA/ re-IVA our cars. At the moment I believe we can do that,
providing we haven't modified our chassis. But, with the EU referendum coming up, someone's dug up the following story by the Daily Mail
from a few years ago. Are we looking at an inexorable slide into ever tightening kit car regulation if we stay in the EU???

4 year old news to be precise, that has since been dismissed and is not an issue.
Fret not, our membership of the EU will not see thousands of cars scrapped either now or the future. We probably need to worry more about the fact
petrol will eventually run out....

Old news the UK Government has done a good deal in introducing the IVA... Don't believe all you read, it's an "entertainment
paper" with people looking for a "story" all be it based on some grains of truths...
This is an example were the EU works! EU thinks up some safety based legislation to help "save" peoples lives, but then over steps the
mark, UK lobbies to say no to the silly aspects of it and hay presto rules are moderated and we still have the IVA..

It may not be that far fetched - in a way.
The EU has been pushing for every city to become a low emissions zone, with (high) charging for all except the latest vehicles and likely complete
bans for many older vehicles. At the same time (according to one of the classic car mags) the FBVHC has been advising the UK government to prevent
vehicles that have undergone almost any modifications from being registered as classics and gaining any exemptions.
