Renault Twingo?

Just seen a Renault Twingo Extreme 60 2008 for sale - anyone know anything about them? A good first car, or fragile french merde?

My 20 yr old stepson has had a 2008 1.2 gt for 6 months now. He is pretty hard on his cars, well he has been in the past!, and the little twingo is bearing up well. No issues at all. I've driven it a couple of times and its a giggle. It was cheap to insure for him too. Although I'm sure that he only wanted it because it had a turbo.

I would say the lesser powered 60 would be an excellent first car choice.

Only experience is of a Twingo hire car for a week in Portugal. It was cheap, we gave it hell and it survived OK - fine as a first car IMHO. Gone are the days when you could pick up a £300 Ford Fiesta and drive it around on a wing and a prayer - learning and first cars seem to be expensive these days and with 3 kids at 10, 8 and 8 I'm not looking forward to that time.
